The Genelink partnership have been breeding no wool easy care meat sheep since 1997 with selection criteria based on low input grass raised breeding stock suited to Australian grazing conditions. Special attention has been paid to selction of carcass qualities to meet the prime lamb grid for both domestic and export processing. White Dorper stud and flock sheep are selected for clean shedding as a priority after base requirements for sound conformation with good muscle and sound feet and legs. The Meatmaster breed has been developed along similar lines but offers different options for pastoral producers needing walking ability and higher heat tolerance.
